Do you count the amount of time your children spend doing something?
As parents, we count the time spent in many areas of our children’s lives: practicing the piano, watching TV, playing video games, and exercising… all areas where we count by minutes and hours. Church attendance, according to many studies, is critical in a child’s development.
Okay, forget the studies. Just ask parents. Adults who grew up going to church and maybe took a break in early adulthood run to find a church as soon as they have children. Why? Because they know what we know: God has something to say about how we live our lives. Parents know it’s their responsibility to teach this to their kids, but they also know they need some help too.
Your child's first visit at Harvest
You will be greeted by a guide who will help you to register your child in our system. You will be given a parent ID tag with a number on it that will correspond to your child’s nametag for security. You must keep that tag to present to the Harvest Kids volunteer when you pick up your child. The guides will then direct you to the age-appropriate classroom where our Harvest Kids volunteers will make you and your child feel welcome. After your first visit, you will be able to use our computerized check in system to check your child into one of the services.
Nurseries (Infants - 24 months)
Children are cared for by loving volunteers who have a heart for young children. Physical needs are cared for along with showing Christ’s love through play, singing songs, and reading books with the children.
Runners (2 Year olds), Preschool, Pre-K, & Kindergarten
Starting in the Runners class, the children will go through the entire Bible twice by the time they finish Kindergarten. A storyteller visits their classes every week to tell them what God’s Word says. They learn to praise God through worship, learn a memory verse, and do crafts. Each child receives a devotional to do at home with their family. Our Kindergarten class joins the 1st-5th grade every week for their worship time.
Elementary (GRADES 1-5)
Large Group Worship
Children in 1st-5th are led in worship each week. They love this time of singing and learning what it means to be a true worshiper.
Large Group Teaching
We believe the Word of God should be taught boldly and correctly. Each week, teachers open their Bibles and teach with authority in a manner that children can understand. We believe strongly that children should never be bored with the Bible. We work hard to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Each child participates in a small group. Children experience Harvest-style small groups in an age-appropriate format. Scripture memorization, prayer, and discussions are included. Children receive devotionals each week.
We use Harvest Bible Chapel’s chronological curriculum which systematically leads children through the Old and New Testament two times from Runners-Kindergarten.
We use Harvest Bible Chapel’s vertical curriculum “God Is” to help our children to understand who God is through the stories that He has given us in His Word.
We are committed to the safety, security and well-being of every child. All children are checked into their classes using our computerized check-in system which includes a numbered code that matches parents and children. (Please refer to “Your child’s first visit to Harvest” if you are a first time guest)
Another way we accomplish security is by having controlled access into our children's classes. We limit the access only to parents and Harvest Kids volunteers. All of our volunteers go through a thorough background check process before they are allowed to serve in any children's area. This includes criminal and sex offender checks.
